Army Emblem

Walter Raymond Johner, 69, of Marissa, IL; born October 4, 1945 in St. Louis, MO; passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Johner was a mechanic. He was a United States Army National Guard Veteran. Walter was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Sparta V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Edwin and Marie Johner. His wife Betty, nee King, Johner who passed away on March 6, 2004. Also preceded in death by two brothers.

He is survived by his children – Mark Daniel Johner of Marissa, IL; Malissa Jane (Robert) Clark of Oakdale, IL; Edwin Joseph (Staci Conekin) Johner of Ashley, IL; Samantha Sue Johner of Marissa, IL. Five grandchildren. Two brothers – Gerald (Peggy) Johner of Waterloo, IL; David Johner of St. Louis, MO. One sister – Maryann (John) Sinclair of Waterloo, IL.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:00am with Pastor Chris Hagen officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
