Army Emblem

Skeet Elijah Marler, 82, of Eldorado, IL; born on February 5, 1933 in Eldorado, IL; passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his home.

Sergeant Marler was a United States Army Veteran. He served in both the Vietnam and Korean Conflicts retiring after 22 years of honorable service. He was a member of the American Legion. Skeet loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Charles and Alice, nee Dibble, Marler. His loving wife Lucille, nee Wyllie, Marler. Two sons – John Marler, Lanny Ray Marler. One daughter – Kathy Ann Marler. Also preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

He is survived by his daughter – Kim Novak of Eldorado, IL. Six grandchildren. Eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.
