Robert J. Bunch, 81, of Coulterville, IL; formerly of Belleville, IL; born on June 25, 1934 in East St. Louis, IL; passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Bunch retired in 1988 as the lead meter reader of the parking division for the City of Belleville, IL. He was a United States Navy veteran and served on the USS Megara during the Korean Conflict. Bob was always enjoyed the fact that he attended Wolf Branch when it was a one room school house. He was a proud member of the Flying Dutchman Airport in Belleville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Francis and Ruth, nee DeClue, Bunch. His uncle and aunt who raised him – John and Eula, nee DeClue Thompson. One infant son – Crayton Bunch. One brother- Jerry Bunch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years – Allegra, nee Dickerson, Bunch whom he married on June 14, 1958 in Belleville, IL. One son – Clay (Rose) Bunch of Belleville, IL. His grandchildren – Clara (Scott) Hansen of Freeburg, IL; Amy (Andrew) Vollmer of Columbia, IL. His great-grandchildren – Shelbie Hansen; Jillian Hansen; Mabrie Hansen; Aaden Vollmer; Ashton Vollmer. His brothers – John (Jean) Bunch of Belleville, IL; Kenneth Thompson of Belleville, IL; Johnny Thompson of Belleville, IL; Jimmie (Carolyn) Thompson of Smithton, IL. His sister – Delores (Richard) Lawrence of Belleville, IL. Brothers-in-law – Dwayne Dickerson of Denver, CO; Del-Rae (Rebecca) Dickerson of Morton, IL. Sister-in-law – Frances Bunch of Caseyville, IL. Bob is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

If I should ever leave you

beside you there.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

Funeral: A service of remembrance will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 12:30pm and will be followed by Naval Funeral Honors.

Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.
