Peggy Ann, nee Frech, Idecker, 73, of New Athens, IL; born on October 5, 1944 in Belleville, IL; passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Idecker was the secretary at the New Athens High School for 39 years and was known by countless faculty, staff and students. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Athens. She enjoyed reading, watching TV and most of all spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents - Philip "Clem" and Jeanette, nee Weible, Frech. Her husband - Gary H. Idecker whom she married on March 17, 1962 in Piggott, AR and who passed away on July 17, 2011.

Peggy is survived by her children - Gary L. (Dawn) Idecker of New Athens, IL; Jeffrey (Mary) Idecker of New Athens, IL; Angela (Chris) Hewitt of Red Bud, IL; Ashley (James) Herbig of Troy, MO. Her grandchildren - Amanda (Jason) Lindsey; Savannah Idecker; Shane Hewitt; Erin Hewitt; Sara Hewitt; Everly Herbig. One great-grandson - Reed Lindsey. Peggy was also expecting the birth of another great-grandbaby Lindsey who will be arriving soon. One sister - Susan (James) Boxx of Ottumwa, IA. Brother-in-law - Donald (Marianne) Idecker of Hecker, IL. Also survived by two nieces.

Memorials may be made to St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness or to the Randolph County Humane Society.

Visitation: Friends may call at the United Methodist Church in New Athens, IL on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m..

Funeral: Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in New Athens, IL on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gene Miller and Rev. Gerald Savage officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements
