Norma Margaret Klingenberg, nee Hanser, 90, of Freeburg, IL; formerly of New Athens, IL; born on December 15, 1924 in Edwardsville, IL; passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Klingenberg earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1951. She was a department manager at JC Penney's. Norma worked at both the Fairview Heights and Carbondale stores and retired after 16 years of service. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL. She was an avid photographer and enjoyed working with photo albums. Norma loved traveling and enjoyed many trips with her husband during their retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents - Harry and Bernadine, nee Huntman, Hanser. One brother - Carl Hanser. One sister - Dorothy Neuhaus Klueter. One son-in-law - Rodney Anderson. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of 65 years - Harold Klingenberg whom she married on June 10, 1950 in Edwardsville, IL. Four daughters - Carla (Dennis) Brandt of Denver, IA; Dawn (Jim) Harwerth of Lenzburg, IL; Beth (Ludger) Schilling of New Athens, IL; Hope (Devin) Kaemmerer Sr. of Lenzburg, IL. One son - Harold "Hal" (Marcie) Klingenberg of Jeffersonville, KY. 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Two sisters-in-law - Grace Hanser of Glen Carbon, IL; Lorene Klingenberg of Nashville, IL. One brother-in-law - Waldo (Alene) Klingenberg of Nashville, IL.

Visitation: Friends may call at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL on Monday, September 7, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 9 to 10 a.m.

Funeral: Services will be held at St. John United Church of Christ in New Athens, IL on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating. Interment: Burial will be held at Greenmount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
