Marshall Carl Haefner, 76, of New Athens, IL; born on February 3, 1941 in Belleville, IL; passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL.

Mr. Haefner was a retired truck driver for ABF. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Teamsters and the New Athens Sportsmen's Club. Marshall loved to ride his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his father - Carl Roy Haefner. His mother - Edythe, nee Wilson, Waeltz. His stepfather - Albert Waeltz.

He is survived by his son - Travis (Abby) Haefner of New Athens, IL. His grandsons - Blane Carl Haefner; Miller Dean Haefner. One sister - Alberta Ray of Dupo, IL. Two brothers - Allen (Karen) Waeltz of Marissa, IL; Duane (Jane Mueth) Waeltz of Marissa, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Robert Koch officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lenzburg, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
