John M. "Jack" Jetton, 81, of Marissa, IL; born on August 18, 1934 in Tilden, IL; passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL.

Mr. Jetton was a carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt, IL. He served in the United States Marine Corp. as a surveyor in the Regimental 12th, 3rd Division. Jack was a member of Carpenter Local 480, the American Legion and a past member of the Marissa Lions Club. He enjoyed golf and woodworking. For many years Jack collected old toys which he would restore to like new condition and donate them at Christmas to local children in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Everett and Dorothy, nee Hill, Jetton. One sister – Darlene (Roy) Wolters. One brother – James Jetton. One brother-in-law – Mark Zipfel. Father and Mother-in-law – Clifford and Francis Flagstad.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years – Kay, nee Flagstad, Jetton whom he married on August 10, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI. His children – John M. (Laura) Jetton of Marissa, IL; Candi K. (Charlie) Jones of DuQuoin, IL; Scott A. (Angie) Jetton of Freeburg, IL. His grandchildren – John M. Jetton III; Ambrika King; Jessica Jetton; Doug Wilhelm; Meagan A. (Clayton) Phelps; Ryan S. M. Jetton; Morgan P. Jetton; Lauren Richardson. His great-grandchildren – Mackenzie R.A. Jetton; Maycee Wilhelm; Nixon K. Jetton; Lennon M. Jetton. One sister – Holly F. Zipfel of Freeburg, IL. Sisters-in-law – Barbara Jetton of Coulterville, IL; Marilyn (Dennis) Malicki of East Troy, WI. Brother-in-law – Ron (Anita) Flagstad of Hendersonville, TN. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Funeral: Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00am with Rev. John Lukomski officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.
