Eugene John Dintelman, 81, of St. Libory, IL; born on December 11, 1935 in St. Libory, IL; passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Dintelman was a lifelong butcher working at various locations. He was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Gene enjoyed spending time with the coffee group and card playing club.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Oscar and Catherine, nee Trentmann, Dintelman. One sister – Dorothy Leisure.
He is survived by his loving wife – Edna, nee Range, Dintelman. His daughters – Donna Underwood of Mascoutah, IL; Rhonda (Tom) Mense of St. Libory, IL; Sondra (David) Laux of Fayetteville, IL. His grandchildren – Ryan (Laura) Zinck; Derek (Brittany) Zinck; Anthony Mense; Morgan Mense; Madison Mense. His great grandsons – Greyson Zinck; Rowan Zinck. Two sisters – Rose Behrmann of Belleville, IL; Mary Jane Reed of Freeburg, IL.

Memorials may be made in the form of Masses to St. Agatha Parish, Vitas Hospice or to the donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m) and on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m..

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, IL on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Mark Reyling officiating.

Interment: Burial will be held at St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery in New Athens, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
