Dolores "Dee", nee Dill, Goaring, 91, of Columbia, IL; formerly of Marissa, IL; born January 18, 1923 in St. Louis, MO; passed away on Friday, December 05, 2014 at the Columbia Convalescent Center in
Columbia, IL.

Mrs. Goaring was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marissa. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a founding member of the Marissa Recreation Area where she also worked at the lunch stand. She worked at the American Brokerage Store in Marissa. She volunteered at the Sonshine Corner Resale Store and as an election poll worker. Dee loved sports of all kind including tennis, golf and college football but she was an especially avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Pauline, nee Hofmeister, Dill. Her husband John Robert Goaring whom she married in St. Louis, MO in 1946 and who passed away on November 19, 1989. One brother and one sister.

She is survived by her two sons – Robert Steven (Shu Ying Damico) Goaring of Swansea, IL; John Joseph Goaring of Vancouver, WA. Her grandchildren – Jill (Christian) Shaw; Jennifer Goaring; Andrew Goaring; Quinn Goaring; Conner Goaring; Teagan Goaring. Her great-grandchildren – Audrey Mulholland; Payton Shaw.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Services: Memorial services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00pm.

Interment: Burial will be held at the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL.
